Raising Bertie selected for IFP Filmmaker Labs

We're delighted to announce that The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) has selected Raising Bertie for their Independent Filmmaker Labs, IFP’s annual yearlong fellowship for first-time feature directors. Raising Bertie director Margaret Byrne, cinematographer/producer Jon Stuyvesant and editor Leslie Simmer are currently attending the first week’s sessions – The Time Warner Foundation Completion Labs – taking place May 11-15 in New York City. The Independent Filmmaker Labs are a highly immersive, free mentorship program supporting first-time feature directors with projects in post-production as they complete, market and distribute their films. The Labs provide filmmakers with the technical, creative and strategic tools necessary to launch their films and careers. Get more details. The great news for the in-progress film comes after Margaret Byrne and producer Ian Kibbe made a huge splash at Good Pitch Chicago last week, bringing in over $60,000 of funding from their seven-minute pitch. This weekend, Ian Kibbe will also pitch and show a short clip of Raising Bertie as part of the Southern Documentary Fund's Spring Showcase. Get more details.
