Now in its 12th year, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival runs from February 6-16 across four venues in downtown Missoula, Montana. Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden's Almost There, about the filmmakers' discovery and caretaking of an elderly outsider artist, world premiered in November 2014 at DOC NYC, before screening at the Arclight Documentary Series in LA. Chicago's Gene Siskel Film Center hosts the film twice this upcoming weekend as part of its Stranger Than Fiction Documentary premieres series. More 2015 festivals will be announced for the film soon! Joanna Rudnick's On Beauty won the Audience Award for Best Short film at the Chicago International Film Festival in October 2014. The film, about photographer and activist Rick Guidotti, world premiered at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and also played DOC NYC. Many more festivals are also set for 2015. We're excited to bring both films to Big Sky and Montana!
