The Dallas International Film Festival has announced their 2011 lineup, and The Interrupters will happily be taking part in the festival. The festival begins March 31st and runs through April 10th, with tickets going on sale March 17th. The Interrupters will screen Friday, April 8th at 4:00pm and then again the following day at 2:30pm.
Dallas will mark The Interrupters' fifth festival appearance in March, having just come from The Miami International Film Festival, where the film took the award for best documentary.
At this year's festival, Director Steve James will be honored with the prestigious Dallas Star Award. The Dallas International Film Festival Star Award honors individuals who have made important contributions to modern cinema and the advancement of the art of film. Previous recipients include Kathryn Bigelow, David Lynch, and Francis Ford Coppola, however James will be the first documentary filmmaker ever to recieve the award.
