In a preview of the summer's most anticipated independent films, IndieWIRE selected The Interrupters as their #2 "must-see" movie.
In picking the film, IndieWIRE noted that The Interrupters is "one of the most acclaimed films to come out of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival" and currently has an A- average from top critics on their site.

The Interrupters and A Good Man both screen this week at the Minneapolis / St. Paul Film Festival, with this coming Sunday giving the opportunity for Kartemquin fans to see both films back-to-back, with Gordon Quinn and Steve James in attendance. Here are the dates:

We only just found out about yet another award win for The Interrupters. The film - already a Jury Prize winner at both the Miami and Full Frame Festivals, as well being the recipient of the True Life Fund from True/False - also picked up the Audience Award for Best Documentary from Philadelphia Cinefest last week. Congratulations to the entire team, and thanks to Philadelphia Cinefest attendees for the honor!

This weekend's Full Frame Documentary Film Festival featured an auspicious double bill of Kartemquin's two newest films, A Good Man and The Interrupters, and both films were warmly received by the audiences in Durham, North Carolina.

The Interrupters will have its European Premiere at the 2011 Sheffield Doc/Fest between June 8-12. Director Steve James will be attending and will also give a masterclass at the festival, which is the UK's most presitigious documentary film event.

Steve James will be in Dallas today and tomorrow for the Dallas International Film Festival, where he will attend two screenings of The Interrupters and also be the first documentary filmmaker to collect the Dallas Star Award. Excitingly, these screenings will also see the premiere of the film's new 144min theatrical cut.

Four new docs produced by Kartemquin Films – The Interrupters, Prisoner of Her Past, A Good Man, and Typeface – will screen in the Twin Cities this April as part of Kartemquin’s 45th anniversary celebration. All showings except Typeface are Minneapolis / St.Paul and Minnesota State premieres.

The Interrupters continued its impressive festival run Saturday with another sold out screening at the Cleveland Film Festival. Interrupters Cobe Williams and Rodney “Hot Rod” Phillips did a road trip with Co-producer Zak Piper, where they joined Producer Alex Kotlowitz on stage after the screening to answer questions following another standing ovation. Cobe reports that one viewer saw the movie twice in Cleveland. He brought his wife back the second time!
