For those of you who couldn't attend - or just want to relive - the 2014 Kartemquin Spring Showcase, watch the recap video of our third annual sold out event. The Spring Showcase invites an audience to preview and discuss four new works-in-progress by Kartemquin filmmakers in a spirit of creative collaboration.
The 3rd annual Kartemquin Spring Showcase invites you to enjoy exclusive previews of never-before-seen footage from four of our upcoming documentaries, and give your feedback directly to the filmmakers in the theater and in a post-screening reception. Serving as both a window into our process and an opportunity to impact the future of these works-in-progress, this event embodies the Kartemquin spirit of collaborative creation and meaningful audience engagement.
Over the last few days, we've seen a wave of individual donations to Generation Food, the in-progress Steve James and Raj Patel transmedia documentary on sharing new solutions to the world's food problems. We've also seen deluge of supportive social media shares of the film's 2012 fundraising trailer, made for their very successful Indiegogo appeal.
This Friday, Steve James will present a special screening of The Interrupters at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, followed by discussion with USC alum Shaft director John Singleton, and The Interrupters stars Ameena Matthews and Eddie Bocanegra. The event is now sold out. Tomorrow, Steve will also present Stevie at USC SCA (get more info & RSVP).
But if you can't attend, perhaps an online video interview of Steve James by award-winning documentary filmmaker Ondi Timoner (Dig! and We Live in Public) will help compensate!
