In the Family screens at DePaul

Director Joanna Rudnick will represent In the Family at a screening tonight sponsored by the Health Law Institute of DePaul University College of Law in cooperation with the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy at the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and the Clinical Ethics Consult Service at University of Illinois at Chicago. Following the film, a panel discussion on medical and legal ethics will commence.

Kartemquin at NYU

Joanna Rudnick, an alum of the Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program at
New York University, will speak at her alma mater on Thursday, Oct. 9. She'll present scenes from In the Family to journalism graduate students and discuss the film.

In the Family on the hill, part deux

The In the Family crew just returned from another busy trip to Washington DC. The group held a productive and thought-provoking Outreach Summit, met with Obama's office to help get the word out about the recent passage of GINA, presented at the Genetic Alliance National Conference and screened the film to great audiences at two screenings at the E Street Cinemas. In the Family World Premiere

Kartemquin's In the Family celebrated its world premiere at Silverdocs yesterday afternoon. Footage from the premiere is featured in the video gallery, day three on the Silverdocs site. Following the screening, the audience enjoyed a stimulating panel discussion featuring filmmaker Joanna Rudnick and moderated by P.O.V.'s Simon Kilmurry. Another Silverdocs screening is planned for Saturday afternoon.
