From Friday, September 2nd until Friday, September 9th the free KTQ50 film is A Good Man (2011). "An unusually intelligent, thoughtful and well-constructed examination of an artist and his work, this film succeeds in illuminating both... crammed with ideas and information as the artwork, but it deals evenhandedly with both concept and craft, and will be revelatory to many with regard to what it takes to bring an huge stage work to life."

Gordon Quinn to give University of Chicago's 2016 Robert H. Kirschner, MD, Human Rights Memorial Lecture

Gordon Quinn, founder and artistic director of Kartemquin Films, will return to his Alma Mater, the University of Chicago, to give the 2016 Robert H. Kirschner, MD, Human Rights Memorial Lecture on June 2, 2016 at 6:00 PM, during the 2016 UChicago Alumni Weekend. Quinn will be interviewed on stage by Jacqueline Stewart, Professor in Cinema and Media Studies and the interim director (2015-16) of the Gray Center for Arts and Inquiry.

Applications now open for 2016 Diverse Voices in Docs

On Sunday, October 11th, the 2015 fellows of the Diverse Voices in Docs (DVID) program celebrated their graduation from the esteemed program at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts on the University of Chicago campus. Now in its third year, DVID aims to help filmmakers of color increase their skillset and network as well as provides them with a venue to screen their works in progress and aid in completing their own documentary projects.
