Howard Reichs' Prisoner of Her Past will be screening in the auditorium of the Tucson Jewish Community Center. The film follows Reichs, a jazz critic, on a journey to understand his mother's struggle with late-onset PTSD more than sixty years after her flight from Nazi-occupied Poland. At 2 PM, Reichs and Michael Marks, lead psychologist of the Southern Arizona Veterans' Administration Health Care System, will be speaking at a panel following the film. They will be joined by Dr. Holly Jindrick, manager at Sierra Tucson's psychology depatment, who has been recently appointed the President of the Southern Arizona Psychological Association (SAPA), to discuss delayed-onset PTSD and evidence-based treatment approaches. SAPA is a non-profit that fosters collaboration between psychologists and supports the region's practitioners.
