This strong statement opens the new In the Game demo, released today via YouTube. Producer/Director Maria Finitzo's film takes on the legacy of Title IX, stating "in our country, who gets to play and who does not is a yardstick by which we measure how close we are to achieving the goals of a democracy."
The Young Women's Leadership Council of Chicago Foundation for Women hosts a special Chicago event.
In the Game director Maria Finitzo will present a clip from the film and feature on a panel discussion about women in sports with Nancy Hogshead-Makar, senior director of advocacy for the Women's Sports Foundation, and Amy Skeen, executive director of Girls in the Game.
A reception follows with two local nonprofits focused on girls' athletics and health, Girls in the Game and Girls on the Run-Chicago.
