The Interrupters won two awards tonight at the Cinema Eye Honors in New York: Best Direction for Steve James, and the top honor of the night: "Oustanding Achievement in Nonfiction Filmmaking."
In accepting the award from documentary legend Michael Moore, Steve James quipped: "Tonight, I really don't care about the Oscars!"

An amazing year for The Interrupters ends with the film receiving multiple placings on lists of the Best Films and/or Best Documentaries of 2011. The film has been such a critical success that P.O.V.
