In the Game screens at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago at 6 pm on October 5th. Chicago Public Library has selected In the Game for inclusion in the popular One Book One Chicago program. Chicago Public Library is hosting a free, public kick-off screening and discussion of Peabody-award-winning documentarian Maria Finitzo's In the Game at Harold Washington Library on Monday, October 5th at 6pm. Panelists for the event will be Terry Mazany, President and chief executive officer for The Chicago Community Trust; Patrick Brosnan, Executive Director at Brighton Park Neighborhood Council; Marty Castro, Chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR); and Cristina Pacione-Zayas, Education Director for the Latino Policy Forum. Kartemquin and Thomas Kelly High School will screen In the Game to the entire school of nearly 2100 students, staff and invited guests to be followed by a panel discussion including filmmaker Maria Finitzo; Coach Stan Mietus (Kelly High School and in the film); Maria Garcia-Jimenez, Alicia Herrera and Elizabeth Moreno (Kelly High School graduates and in the film); Nadia Flores (former College and Career Counselor at Kelly High School); Juan Martinez (College Advisor, Richard J. Daley Community College and in the film); and Luis Narvaez (College Access for Special Populations, Office of College and Career Success at CPS).

The Young Women's Leadership Council of Chicago Foundation for Women hosts a special Chicago event.

In the Game director Maria Finitzo will present a clip from the film and feature on a panel discussion about women in sports with Nancy Hogshead-Makar, senior director of advocacy for the Women's Sports Foundation, and Amy Skeen, executive director of Girls in the Game.

A reception follows with two local nonprofits focused on girls' athletics and health, Girls in the Game and Girls on the Run-Chicago.
