As a part of the new KICK Film Festival, Hoop Dreams will screen on Friday, April 22nd, as a tribute to the winning seasons of local Washington College and Kent County High School. Hoop Dreams, directed by Steve James, follows two African-American teenagers recruited to play basketball over several years in their lives, touching on issues of race, class, education, and values in American society. 

For all Washington College and Kent County High school students, this event is free. For adults, a $10 contribution is recommended.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will host a rare screening of Hoop Dreams with director/producer/editor Steve James, cinematographer Peter Gilbert and producer/editor Frederick Marx in person with star Arthur Agee!

Part of the Society's "50 Years of the New York Film Festival" programming, Hoop Dreams was voted the greatest documentary of all time by the International Documentary Association and included by The New York Times on its list of the 1000 greatest movies ever made.
