WTTW11 Chicago will air Kartemquin's The Last Pullman Car on labor day, September 3rd, at 10pm. This broadcast of the film is the first since its original air date in 1984.

On May 10th, founding member and Artistic Director of Kartemquin Films Gordon Quinn will be speaking at the panel "Doc U: The Future of Docs on PBS" in Los Angeles. The panel, sponsored by the International Documentary Association, will address the future of public broadcasting and independent documentary programming in light of recent heavy cuts to PBS' nonfiction programming by the National Endowment for the Arts and uncertainties regarding the scheduling of two PBS programs, Independent Lens and POV. Quinn will be joined by Simon Kilmurry (executive director of American Documentary | POV), Brenda Brkusic (executive producer of PBS SoCal), and Lyn Goldfarb (Academy Award-nominated documentarian). This past Valentine’s Day, on February 14th, Kartemquin’s award-winning The Interrupters premiered for American television audiences on PBS's FRONTLINE, the same day that DVD and Blu-Ray pre-orders of The Interrupters shipped out to viewers. Leading up to the 8 PM CST / 9 PM EST broadcast, ardent fans and several news organizations – including TIME and Time Out Chicago – tweeted reminders to tune in.
The Interrupters will have its US television premiere on PBS FRONTLINE at 9pm on February 14th 2012. The US DVD and digital versions of the film will be made available following the broadcast.
