The Interrupters took home the top award from Sheffield Doc/Fest today, winning the Special Jury Award at Britain's premier documentary film festival. Director Steve James was on hand to collect the prize.

The Interrupters is the "Centerpiece screening" of the AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Festival. Producers Steve James and Alex Kotlowitz and violence interrupter Ameena Matthews to attend with executive producer and Kartemquin co-founder Gordon Quinn.
