After serving as an intern in Fall 2018, Whitney joined Kartemquin as the Marketing and Distribution Associate in January 2020 and most recently moved into the role of Director of Marketing in July 2021. She's excited to take a larger role in the Kartemquin community supporting the talented filmmakers telling deeply important stories.
Whitney gravitated towards the storytelling aspect of marketing because she enjoys the creative action driven by strategy and insights. She believes in the power of story to engage and organize communites. In her role, she explores new ways to to share Kartemquin's impact with as many people as possible.
Her responsibilities include managing social media, assisting in marketing campagins for individual films, programs, and the organization as a whole.
Whitney is a 2019 Roger Ebert Sundance Fellow and filmmaker. She graduated with a BA in Communications and M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Louisville. Most recently, she attended DePaul University for her MA in Critical Ethnic Studies where she fell in love with documentary storytelling through work on her creative thesis project.
Outside of documentary, Whitney loves watching sports and circulating memes across multiple platforms with her friends.
