Nancy McDonald

Manager of Development and Special Events

Nancy first joined the Kartemquin family as an intern of Xan Aranda and assisted on her film Andrew Bird: Fever Year. She then worked for several years as a Production Coordinator on an educational children's television show, Green Screen Adventures. Her roles there included costume design/styling for which she was nominated for a National Daytime Emmy. She then worked as a staff member for Kartemquin Films in a variety of roles, from event planning to assistant editing to keeping the archive project in motion and finally as the KTQ Production Manager. In 2018, Nancy joined the programming team at the Hawaii International Film Festival under the leadership of another KTQ alum, Beckie Stocchetti -- but sometime between surfing and reviewing screeners she caught the political bug and joined the Advance Team for 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang. Once the campaign trail came to an end Nancy re-joined the Kartemquin staff, assisting Joanna Lakatos in the development department. She is now the Manager of Development and Special Events, and is looking forward to reconnecting with the KTQ Community at large, ideally in person, in the coming year.
