Ingrid Roettgen

Ingrid works in the post-production department at Kartemquin Films. She supports projects through assistant editing, media management, and workflow coordination. Additionally, Ingrid manages distribution traffic for Kartemquin’s catalog of over 60 films, both domestically and internationally. Ingrid has worked with Kartemquin since 2016, and previously oversaw the Kartemquin Archive Project by managing preservation of over 18,000 historic artifacts that span 50+ years of independent documentary filmmaking. Most notably, Ingrid spearheaded the 50th anniversary restoration of Kartemquin's seminal film, Inquiring Nuns.

Ingrid began her career as a post-production assistant on the Oscar-nominated film Abacus: Small Enough to Jail, and most recently worked as an assistant editor and associate producer for the Marshall Project's We Are Witnesses: Chicago. She is currently assistant editing the upcoming Left-Handed Pianist and trying to perfect a Premiere-to-Avid workflow.

Outside of Kartemquin, Ingrid occasionally freelances on films and podcasts. Currently, she is editing Max Asaf's debut film, Within the Box.

Ingrid studied public communication and journalism at Truman State University in Missouri. Her background in journalism and love of storytelling inspired her to pursue a career in documentary filmmaking.
