Alyssa N. Villegas Rodriguez was born and raised in Uptown, Chicago, IL. She is a product of Chicago Public Schools and the city's rich activist communities. Since the age of 19, she has curated and developed artistic and cultural programming throughout the city, with roots in the historically Puerto Rican community, Humboldt Park. After receiving her bachelors in business management from Northeastern Illinois University she went on to study film producing at Brooklyn College in New York City where she graduated with her masters in fine arts in 2018. Her thesis film, Esta Niña Linda, was selected by the National Board of Review. Alyssa was also awarded the Tribeca Film Institute All Access development grant for her feature film producerial debut, No Half Steppin’. She has since moved back to her hometown where she works as a freelance producer and project coordinator. Alyssa is also part of the booking management team at Young Chicago Authors.
