Filmmakers and subject of the 1994 Sundance audience award winner Hoop Dreams reunited this month at the 50th anniversary of the New York Film Festival. At the Film Society of Lincoln Center screening, Fred Marx, Peter Gilbert, Ira Deutchman, Steve James, and Arthur Agee gathered to remember the film’s original NYFF premiere, where Hoop Dreams became the first documentary to ever close the renowned festival.
