Watch The Last Pullman Car in Pullman
This Saturday in Chicago, don't miss a FREE screening of Kartemquin's The Last Pullman Car at the Pullman Clock Tower: "a unique opportunity to watch a film about a historic site while seated in said historic site" (Chicagoist).
The 1983 film's depiction of the 1981 fight of workers to keep their jobs working at Pullman has renewed relevance 30 years later, showing yet another story of American industry abandoning our workers and communities.
Filmmakers Jerry Blumenthal and Gordon Quinn are attending the event, organized by South Side Projections, the Pullman State Historic Site, and the Bronzeville/Black Chicagoan Historical Society. Get more information.
- See more classic Kartemquin Films in Chicago at our Doc Films retrospective, every Sunday at 7pm this fall. Next up: Golub (10/23), Marco (10/30), Hoop Dreams (11/6) and more!
