Announcing The Interrupters in cinemas & A Good Man on PBS

Kartemquin's new films The Interrupters and A Good Man will both screen at the 2011 AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Interrupters screens tonight, June 22nd, 7:30pm as the "Centerpiece screening" of the entire festival, with Steve James, Alex Kotlowitz, Gordon Quinn and violence interrupter Ameena Matthews attending. PRESALE TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT. Rush tickets will be available at the theatre.

A Good Man screens June 23rd, 8pm and June 25, 11:15am, with co-directors Gordon Quinn and Bob Hercules attending. Get tickets.

This will be the third festival of 2011, Kartemquin's 45th anniversary year, in which the two films have played together, following on from Full Frame (where A Good Man world premiered and The Interrupters took home a Special Jury Award) and Minneapolis / St. Paul (where The Interrupters won Best Documentary).
