Prisoner of Her Past and Typeface: Broadcasting Nationwide Now!

The Interrupters wins and Bill T. Jones swings

Kartemquin was proud to have two new films screening at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival last week: The Interrupters and A Good Man.

In its world premiere, A Good Man drew a standing ovation from the crowd and had the film's subject Bill T. Jones dancing in celebration.

The film, which will air on AMERICAN MASTERS on PBS later this year, also drew strong praise from critics and audiences, with Slant Magazine calling it "a remarkable testament to the creative process, which, like much of [Bill T.] Jones's best work, is centered around themes of history, identity, and love."

The Interrupters also continued its festival winning streak at Full Frame, adding a Special Jury Award to its Best Documentary award from Miami and an Audience Award from Philadelphia Cinfest that it had received the previous week!
