"A success story we should all celebrate:" 45 years of Kartemquin Films!
2011 marks our 45th year of producing documentaries that examine and critique society through the stories of real people, making Kartemquin one of the longest running media arts organizations in existence. As Hank Sartin of Time Out Chicago recently put it, Kartemquin is "a success story we should all celebrate."
Read on below for news of how we'll be doing that this year, starting with the world premiere of The Interrupters at Sundance 2011 (watch four newly released excerpts below), the DVD re-release of The Chicago Maternity Center Story, and a new Rock the Doc! event on Valentine's Day in Chicago (for all the doc lovers out there). And just so you know it is not all partying, we also introduce two brand new Kartemquin films in development, and present all the latest news on or other extremely busy projects in the film updates section.
Thanks for all your support over the years - we could not have made it without you!
