Academy Award-nominated Edith+Eddie by Laura Checkoway continues to generate awareness and energy around the issues of elder rights, elder abuse, guardianship abuse, aging, end-of-life issues and legal reform. Steve James announced as 2018 AFI DOCS Guggenheim Honoree

Kartemquin is thrilled to share that long-time Kartemquin associate Steve James has been announced as the 2018 AFI DOCS Charles Guggenheim Symposium honoree. Now We Live on Clifton featured at the Art Institute of Chicago

Kartemquin is excited to share that our 1974 film Now We Live on Clifton is now featured in the Art Institute of Chicago's new exhibition, 'Never a Lovely So Real: Photography and Film in Chicago, 1950-1980.' The exhibit runs through October 28. Featured on the accompanying audio tour are Now We Live on Clifton filmmakers and original Kartemquin collective members Gordon Quinn, Kartemquin Artistic Director and co-founder of Kartemquin Films, and Peter Kuttner. '63 Boycott wins Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary Short at the Nashville Film Festival

This past weekend '63 Boycott, a film by Rachel Dickson, Tracye A. Matthews and Gordon Quinn, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary Short at the Nashville Film Festival. The win makes the film eligible for submission to the 2019 Academy Awards. Previously, the film won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Short at the 2018 Pan African Film + Arts Festival (the film's LA premiere), and made its New York premiere at the Museum of Modern Art's 2018 Documentary Fortnight. The film next screens at the Adrian International Film Festival on Saturday, May 19th, and the African Diaspora Cinema Festival in Florence, Italy, running July 5-8. Continued
