Kartemquin is thrilled to share Represent, the debut feature from director Hillary Bachelder, this past week earned both a grant from Fork Films and was selected to participate in IFP's Project Forum.
Represent follows three first-time female candidates in the Midwest risking their careers, reputations, and the well-being of their loved ones to run for political office.
Chosen from over 500 applicants, Represent is one of 16 documentaries chosen to receive a grant from Fork Films, the New York-based production company founded by Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker. Read about the granting in Deadline.
Represent was also chosen as one of 150 films, series, digital and audio projects to be showcased at the Project Forum during the 40th Anniversary of IFP Film Week this September. The Project Forum, says IFP, is the "United States' only international co-production market featuring stories for all platforms." The IFP Film Week and IFP Week Project Forum take place from September 15-20 in Brooklyn, NY. Find a full list of projects selected to participate here.
Represent is directed by Hillary Bachelder, produced by Anne Sobel, and executive produced by Rosie Garthwaite.
