Carlos De Luna case back in the news
May 15, 2012
Fans of our Oscar-shortlisted 2008 documentary At The Death House Door will never forget the case of Carlos De Luna, the wrongly-executed man at the center of the film's study of the death penalty. The case is back in the news again this week thanks to Los Tacayos Carlos, a comprehensive new book and online report from Columbia Law School, which picks up where our film left off in arguing that De Luna was innocent.

May 10, 2012
Thanks to the 1200+ fans and filmmakers who joined our cause to support independent documentary film programming, PBS announced yesterday it would move Independent Lens and POV to Monday night, PBS' highest-rated evening.
The long-awaited change would not have been possible without the groundswell of support from our fans and allies like PBS veteran Bill Moyers and the International Documentary Association.

Happy Mondays! PBS announces new night for documentary strands
May 9, 2012
Kartemquin is delighted that PBS today announced a new regular spot on their schedule - Mondays at 10pm - for documentary strands Independent Lens and POV.
This move is the culmination of months of negotiation between PBS and the programs after they were moved away from their regular Tuesday night timeslots and subsequently lost a large amount of viewers. In response, Kartemquin and other independent documentary filmmakers mounted the PBS Needs Indies campaign to signal our concern over the fate of documentary programming on PBS.
