The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) has announced that Gordon Quinn, artistic director and founding member of Kartemquin Films, will keynote its opening plenary at the 2012 ACM Conference & Exhibition in Chicago on August 1st.
As well as being an acclaimed filmmaker, Gordon is an ardent supporter of public and community media. He has served on the boards of several organizations, including The Illinois Humanities Council, The Chicago Public Access Corporation, and The Public Square Advisory Committee, The Illinois Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
The Alliance for Community Media 2012 Conference & Exhibition will take place in Chicago July 31-August 2, 2012. The conference will be focused on the growth of business opportunities for community media centers, and attendees will explore key issues affecting public, educational and government access organizations and community media centers.
