Indies Celebrate PBS Programming Change
May 10, 2012

Thanks to the 1200+ fans and filmmakers who joined our cause to support independent documentary film programming, PBS announced yesterday it would move Independent Lens and POV to Monday night, PBS' highest-rated evening.
The long-awaited change would not have been possible without the groundswell of support from our fans and allies like PBS veteran Bill Moyers and the International Documentary Association.
“We really feel that we had an effect,” Gordon Quinn told the New York Times' Decoder media blog.
After PBS announced they would move the long-running independent documentary shows to Thursday night, ratings plummeted and independent filmmakers organized an online petition to protest the time change.
