We've had many great years during our history, and 2011 was a definite highlight, as we enjoyed the success of The Interrupters and A Good Man, and celebrated our 45th anniversary. We’re pleased to see that achievement recognised today as Kartemquin Films is listed in Realscreen’s “Global 100” list of the world's top non-fiction film production companies.
The non-fiction news magazine solicited nominations and comments from readers, producers, international network executives and distributors for their salute to “the 100 top non-fiction production companies operating today.” In a field largely comprised of producers of factual television formats, Kartemquin was one of the very few companies selected that produces long-form, social issue documentaries intended for theatrical release, community discussion and public media broadcast. We were also one of the only not-for-profits to be placed on the list.
It’s also not the first time Kartemquin has made the cut, and with a record-number of new productions currently in-progress, we hope it will not be the last, either!
Thanks to everyone who supported our work in 2011!
A Good Man
