RSVP for "Restoring Justice," third event in The School Project series

The School Project, a collaboratively-made transmedia documentary series about public education, hosts its third public event on Thursday, March 5th at 5:30pm at the North Lawndale College Prep Collins Campus Auditorium in Chicago. Almost There adds more festivals

Almost There has a flurry of festival appearances ahead. The film was recently announced as an official selection at True/False, Cleveland International Film Festival, Sebastopol Film Festival, Geneva Film Festival, and Wisconsin Film Festival. Fresh from a great experience at Big Sky (read all about it), and sold out shows in Chicago and Grand Rapids, Aaron Wickenden and Dan Rybicky's film - which world premiered at DOC NYC in November 2014 - has great momentum heading in to spring and beyond. The Homestretch aims to #EndYouthHomelessness

Kirsten Kelly and Anne de Mare's The Homestretch continues to gather strong momentum in its social impact campaign's bid to end youth homelessness. With multiple screenings set across the country (and more coming into us each day), political activity, and media interest ahead of the April 13th world television premiere of the film on PBS Independent Lens, there is cause for optimism that the film is helping to bring much need attention and action to this issue. We're delighted to announce that Almost There will screen at the 2015 True/False Film Festival, held this March 5-8 in Columbia, Missouri. The film's screening times are: Fri, Mar 6 / 5:00PM / Little Ragtag Sat, Mar 7 / 9:45AM / The Vimeo Theater at The Blue Note Sat, Mar 7 / 8:30PM / Forrest Theater Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden's film about their discovery and caretaking of elderly artist Peter Anton was one of just 38 films selected from over 1,200 submissions and is our first film to screen at the increasingly popular and prestigious festival since 2011, when The Interrupters (on which Wickenden was an editor), screened there. Pullman designated National Monument; watch our film on this Chicago treasure

On February 19, 2015 President Barack Obama will officially designate the south Chicago neighborhood of Pullman as America's next National Monument, and Chicago's first National Park site.
