Typeface limited edition DVDs are sold out!

July 14, 2011

Thanks to all the legions of Typeface fans around the world, we are now sold out of Typeface limited edition DVDs! The limited edition DVD featured a letterpress poster designed by Bill Moran of Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. Designs by Bill and Jim Moran are now also gracing the bodies of type lovers across the USA thanks to the Target "Cool Never Fades" clothing line inspired by the museum. The creation of the line itself - like so many of the amazing posters, photos and videos you have sent us over the past 3 years - was itself inspired by a Target designer seeing one of the very first Typeface screenings in 2008 at the Walker Art Center. We are proud to have been a small part of the ongoing resurrection of the museum and of the letterpress and typography movements, simply because we love seeing the community reengage with and build around this traditional artform in the digital era. As the Speak Art & Design blog so aptly puts it: "It is so cool to see old woodblocks, some over a hundred years old, used for a contemporary fashion line. This is living typography, living history in the true spirit of the museum itself. Awesome." Typeface is still available in unlimited versions on DVD, iTunes and Amazon VOD. Justine Nagan's film also has its own line of rather fetching t-shirts and beautiful letterpress posters that you might want to grab a hold of while stocks last! Also, if you are in Indiana don't miss the chance to see the film at 9pm tonight on WFYI PBS. And if you're one of our fans from Australia, don't miss the Australian television premiere of the film at 3pm this Sunday on ABC1!
