Letting People Speak for Themselves, for 45 years

March 25, 2011

On March 31st at 9pm, WTTW will broadcast Inquiring Nuns, the first film of their year-long celebration of Kartemquin's 45th Anniversary.

The series will include the television premieres of three new films: Prisoner of Past, A Good Man, and The Interrupters, as well as viewer favorites like Typeface and In the Family, and classics such as Taylor Chain and Now We Live on Clifton. Each film in the series will be preceded by a brief introduction from a key producer or subject of the film shot at Kartemquin's historic Chicago headquarters, where we've been located since 1971.

In this video, Kartemquin's Gordon Quinn and Justine Nagan introduce the series, and explain why series opener Inquiring Nuns is an example of our signature style: examining and critiquing society through stories in which people speak for themselves. Tune in on Thursday and see a cinema verite classic!
