Genius of a Different Hue examines how black culture has been shaped by admen and adwomen in the past and present. The film is a fast-paced look from before blacks were considered consumers to present day where black culture is now part of mainstream culture. Through reenactments and interviews with creative professionals and cultural icons, we look at advertising in America from the exploitation of Aunt Jemima to the exaltation of Lebron James –– and all the steps in between.
