The Interrupters screens in Chicago at a special ITVS Community Cinema event honoring women mentors. Free and open to the public. More information.
 
After the film a group of women whom mentor young people will be honored and sit on a panel moderated by WBEZ 91.5 FM’s Alison Cuddy: CeaseFire violence interrupter Ameena Matthews, Mariame Kaba from Project NIA, Shira Hassan from Young Women's Empowerment Project, Jacinda and Jaquanda from Kuumba Lynx.
 
Partner organizations: WBEZ, WTTW, Chicago Foundation for Women, and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
 
This screening is part of the Women and Girls Lead Initiative from ITVS. Women and Girls Lead is an innovative public media initiative designed to focus, educate and connect women, girls, and their allies across the globe to address the challenges of the 21st century.
