Tim Horsburgh is Kartemquin’s Director of Communications and Programs. Since 2009, he has driven all external marketing, public relations and social media for Kartemquin and all their individual films. He also manages programs including the Internship and KTQ Labs, Diverse Voices in Docs, and the Rock the Doc socials, among other Kartemquin initiatives to enhance the Midwest independent production community.

Since moving to Chicago in 2006, Tim has also worked as an Associate Producer at Horizons Communications Group, as a journalist for ReelChicago.com, and at the Chicago Film Archives. He has served on the festival organizing committee for Evanston's Talking Pictures Festival since its inception in 2009.

Tim was born in India, but raised in Berkshire, England. He holds a Masters in Humanities and Cultural Studies from the London Consortium (2005), and a BA in History from University College London (2003). He is currently a part-time faculty member at the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management department of Columbia College Chicago.

He has spoken on documentary film marketing, media advocacy, and community engagement at the SilverDocs International Documentary Film Festival, NAMAC, the Chicago Documentary Summit and Cinema Chicago's CineYouth Festival.
