Nancy Ali

Naheed (Nancy) Ali is on the leadership management team of Metropolitan Group as Sr. Vice President and Practice Leader, Resource Development. MG is a full-service strategic communication and resource development firm that works exclusively with social purpose organizations (non-profits, foundations, public agencies and socially responsible businesses). Metropolitan Group is one of the nation's leading social marketing agencies specializing in work with arts culture and heritage, environmental and community economic development organizations. Nancy recently left a position as Vice President of Resource Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). In this capacity Nancy oversaw the resource development efforts for the national organization’s Midwest region, which is comprised of 13 states.
Nancy’s background has provided her with strong strategic planning, diversified revenue development and marketing promotions skills. She has over 25 years of experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors.
Nancy has spent 13 years in the not-for-profit sector working at both the national and local levels of multi-million dollar organizations. Her not-for-profit career includes serving as executive director of the Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program, Inc. which served over 550 youngsters from the Cabrini Green housing project. She also has held management positions with several voluntary health organizations. Under Nancy’s leadership, these organizations saw double and triple digit growth in revenue and increased six and seven-figure contributions from both individuals and corporations.
During her 12 years in the corporate sector, Nancy worked primarily in print media, including The Los Angeles Times and Newsday. She held positions in promotions and public affairs departments and lead the newspaper industry in relationship marketing building collaborative partnerships between corporations, school districts, community organizations and newspapers to increase literacy among youth while increasing circulation and advertising revenue.
Nancy, originally from Bangladesh, has been actively involved in organizations that address human rights issues in the South Asian community. She served on the board of Apna Ghar, a domestic abuse shelter and is a member of Drishtipat, a human rights organization addressing societal issues confronting those living in Bangladesh. In addition to serving on the board of Kartemquin Films, she also sits on the board of Citizens for 2016, a grassroots organization advocating the Olympics in Chicago.
Nancy majored in journalism at Ball State University where she was a member of the Honors College and was a Graduate Fellow in the journalism department at Ohio State University. She is a resident of Glencoe, is married to businessman Kulbir Thukral and has two adult daughters, Rehana and Kassira.
